"Les Peupliers" is a tastefully renovated, 350 year old Gascon farmhouse set in over two acres of ground. The property is a listed building with some unusual and attractive architectural features.

Clients have the benefit of four double bedrooms and five bathrooms and there is some 200 square metres of guest accommodation in total.

 
In all, the gite offers clients the following facilities :
 
  • 4 en-suite bedrooms (each between 17m2 and 20m2 excluding bathrooms)

  • Ground floor shower room and w.c.

  • Fully equipped, modern kitchen with dishwasher, TV and sound system

  • Utility room with washing machine and separate sink

  • Attractive, 40 sq. metre salon with dining area with large traditional 'cheminée' and wood-burning stove. UK TV is provided together with a DVD player and a Hi-Fi system. A large (10 seat), comfortable sofa set in front of the hewn-stone fireplace makes for relaxing and convivial evenings.

  • Pantiled 'galerie' (covered terrace) leading to patio, barbecue and external dining area

  • 2,500 square metre garden with 'figure of eight' swimming pool

  • The swimming pool (which is heated) has a decked sunbathing area, dining area, changing room, refrigerator, and solar heated shower. It is equipped with eight loungers, parasols and attractive lighting for late night swimming.

  • Various inflatable toys, armbands, dinghies etc can be found in the pool-house

  • Pétanque court or 'boulodrome' (boules supplied). Various games, jigsaw puzzles etc. are also provided

  • All linen included

  • Situated in a quiet agricultural area opposite the  pretty ruined church of St. Juin and close to Le Canal Latéral, La Garonne river, and a unique nature reserve, yet within easy cycling distance of the nearest town

  • Close to the local 'Halte Nautique' bar/restaurant as featured in Rick Stein's BBC cookery series 'A French Odyssey' in September 2005.

  • Only 5 kms from Tonneins (pop 9,500)
